Lilly Longman’s original 100 year old recipe book (pictured left) contains over 200 traditional Edwardian and Victorian recipes hand written by Lilly when she worked as a scullery maid for a family of extended Royals in London.
In 2008 Lilly’s Grandson Alan Taylorson (who now lives on the Greek island of Corfu) mentioned the existence of the recipe book to his friend Alan Smith (a long term Corfu resident and retired business person) and history was not just made but preserved.
The result (shown right) was a modern day A4 heavy-weight illustrated cookery book which contains over 200 of Lilly’s traditional recipes and is available to buy via mail order.

It is fair to say that history was preserved in creating this book.

A note from the author Alan Smith:
